for those who don’t know, the affordable care act is being reevaluated by the supreme court tomorrow. trump’s appointed justices are about to dismantle the healthcare program that provides services to the unemployed, those under 26, Indigenous people, older people, and many more.

if the ACA is overturned, i will lose my healthcare. i will lose my pain medication. i will suffer alongside millions of other disabled people.

20 million Americans are currently covered by the ACA.

More than 1 million Indigenous people in the United States are enrolled in healthcare coverage through Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), which is possible due to a 2010 Medicaid expansion under the ACA. The supreme court could strike all of this down.

This can also disrupt healthcare coverage if you have a preexisting condition, which can include but is not limited to depression, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, lupus, anxiety, asthma, oh... and PREGNANCY.

A strike down of the ACA would also steal coverage from the 50 million low-income Americans who use it to access basic treatment, check-ups, and lifesaving procedures.
