Yes, this is personal for me. I was smashed between 2 parked cars & almost killed by a drunken driver when I was 13.

I still deal with the mental and physical scars left by the drunken driver who almost killed me. I was 13. No 13-year-old should have to deal with what I suffered that night. I’m so grateful my sports editors at the Houston Chronicle let me write columns about this.
