Pre-government engagement rant:

I genuinely do not understand why our government is so obsessed with making sure only the truest of Disney soul mates immigrate to the US.

Like, I get the sham marriage thing.
But what percent are we talking here?

This is HARD.
We will end up paying $3-4k dollars in fees. You have to pay for a full medical write-up with vaccines. You have to wait a year for an interview with seriously scary TV FBI people interrogating you and then repeat it 2 years later.

To make sure you're reeaaally married.
As the world grows more interconnected and more ppl marry internationally, we must streamline this process.

What baffles me is the US let's you get married and gives you a social security number BEFORE they approve your green card.

If you're denied you're still legally married.
The government decides you are in a sham married but you're just as legally married as the one true lovers.

Its idiocy to me.

I am a pro-immigration person generally. I think we should welcome the world.

But only the absolutely dedicated go through this insane process.
I mean.
The deadlines they give you are MONTHS shorter than the time it takes them to process your case.

I just don't get why they can't focus their investigation work on obvious cases of fraud rather than going the TSA route of treating everyone as potential terrorists.
I'm just saying.
Its been a ridiculous 2-year process and I'm gathering evidence I'm real married not real-but-fake married as we speak and hoping everything goes smoothly and its absurd.

Immigrating to the US is **đź‘ŹNđź‘ŹOđź‘ŹT** easy.

Well.
At least legally.
