Why growing your audience and expanding your impact in the process via a newsletter is nothing new...

But, why you definitely SHOULD start one today 👇

Let’s discuss
The notion of sending out a newsletter to share your thoughts, experiences, ideas, wins, losses, to sell something, or to develop a community of people you want to engage with around common interests are all great reasons to start a newsletter.
Creating a newsletter requires you to slow down, analyze, and round up your thoughts. Some say it’s actually quite a therapeutic experience to do so.

I also believe the positives of creating your own newsletter far outweigh any negatives.

The more you write the better you get!
I would be remiss not to again point out that creating a newsletter isn’t a new concept. Newsletters themselves have been around a very long time... whether its been a PDF, a Google Doc, a Blog, a community like Slack, or more recently a Notion doc shared with others.
Here’s what I think we are going to see with the next iteration of newsletter creation.

The biggest change we are going to see is that newsletters will no longer be chained to the Inbox.

You WON’T have to open your inbox to keep up with the tens of newsletters you enjoy reading
Wait what.... Did I just say that the newsletters you read won’t be tied to your inbox anymore?

Yes yes I did đź‘Ź

But if they’re not in my inbox then where will they be?

Well... there are a few possible places that you might find your favorite newsletters besides your inbox
The first and most obvious place would be that you receive an SMS (text) message when a new issue from one of your newsletters is released

Then next possible place would be inside an app built to hold your newsletters for quick reading and inviting your friends to also subscribe
Perhaps archived and new issues of newsletters are available within a community where you can meet and engage with fellow subscribers. Allowing you to discuss the content within each issue and you can share YOUR newsletter with others may find it valuable. Community is powerful!
Finally you may soon find issues of your favorite newsletter on new content discovery platforms — similar to what I’m in the process of launching with @Passion_so

Such platforms allow writers to have their newsletter easily discovered while also building community in one place!
The days of reading your favorite newsletters from within your inbox (where they are often forgotten or overlooked) will soon be in the past

Crafting well designed newsletters has become extremely simple. Sadly, the newsletter discovery process and ease of reading hasn’t kept up
Let’s not forget @SubstackInc and how they allow you to discover newsletters that are being written by people you follow on @Twitter 👏📥

What other newsletter discovery platforms do you use to satisfy your insatiable desire to be “in the know” and expand your knowledge?
