It reminds me of another grift Trump ran

It was the early 90s and Trump had been trying to make his casino in Atlantic City profitable (or even break-even). His right hand man, The Mormon who ran Trumps Casinos, had just died in a helicopter crash, and Trump was in over his head.

Donald's debt was exploding, and despite him wearing down his debt to a fraction of the original, he still needed a cash infusion.

So Trump had an idea: create a business that the public can buy in to, that way he could use that money to erase his debt.

Acting as President of his publicly traded company, he convened a favorable board and had them select an Executive Director (may not be his exact title, I'm just doing this from memory)

That Executive Director: Donald Trump.

And so The Trump Hotel and Casino Resort was formed

But as Executive Director, and such a well known name, the board (aka Trump) felt that a salary was deserved, and so the Executive Director (Trump) began to collect a very handsome salary.

Trump would go on to bill the public company as a chance to invest in what Trump himself invests in. A chance to get rich, just like him (sound anything like a certain University scam?) through wise investment.

Who could resist?

And so people invested.

It wasn't long before the ED of THCR (DJT) approached The President of The Trump Organization (DJT) and offered one billion dollars for some of The Trump Organization's property. It just so happened that the property were the ones not turning a profit.

And so, Donald Trump made a deal with himself to give his private company (aka himself) a billion dollars from his publicly traded company while also paying himself millions in salary, just so he could offload the property that was costing him money.

In the end, please realize Trump is a grifter, and when times get tough he doubles down and grifts harder. It doesn't mean the outcome will be better for you or I. He doesn't care about that.

And he's going keep doing it for the next 10-11 weeks.
