The 400+ person gathering that happened this past weekend is a slap in the face to venues across the city who are counting the days and minutes until they can open again.
It's a slap in the face to the artists and members of the entertainment industry (🙋🏾‍♂️) who's livelihoods have been put on hold. It's a slap in the face to every single citizen who has altered their way of life out of care and as a means to reduce opportunities to harm someone in
their community. I'm hoping the city does a better job of demonstrating that they messed up by letting this just happen, literally in broad daylight. The leaders of said event represent a population of people who side step these mandates
and means to stop the spread out of selfishness, don't be like them. Please keep doing your part so we can get back to our community spaces without fear. It's less about if the words "wear a mask" are on a flyer or near an entrance and more about "do I have a mask on?".
Wear a mask, wash ya hands, and ask yourself if you really need to go wherever or do whatever it is. I miss seeing faces, and creating spaces so much yo! This past weekend after 4 years we beat one virus, let's stay focused so it doesn't take that long to beat this one.
