I’m assuming Trump will fire FBI Director Wray.

Four FBI directors have been forced to resign, only two have been fired outright.

And by the way, Wikipedia is WRONG in its claims as to who was which numbered FBI director.

But! . . .
First, before 1935 the FBI was called the Bureau of Investigation, that does NOT mean it was a different organization. This is what ppl who contribute to Wikipedia do not understand, and thus call J. Edgar Hoover the FBI's 1st director. Wrong. He was #5 . . .
It's second chief (the term before it used "director") was A. Bruce Bielaski who led the bureau during WWI. When the war ended Congress began asking questions abt the bureau's wartime activity, including abuses with rounding up draft dodgers. Bielaski resigned probably over this.
Attorney General Palmer hired former Secret Service chief William Flynn to replace him, because Flynn had a reputation as "an anarchist chaser." Then came the widespread civil liberties violations during the Red Scare of 1919-1920. Flynn thus resigned.
Flynn was replaced by William J. Burns, the owner of the Burns Detective agency, and a man who believed ends justified means. Burns was corrupt, linked to the corrupt attorney general Daugherty, brought the corrupt Gaston Means into the bureau, and . . .
When the Teapot Dome Scandal broke -- the biggest political scandal in U.S. history until Watergate -- which involving the FBI targeting senators investigating, it Burns was forced to resign in disgrace.
Then Hoover was FBI director from 1924 to 1972, some 48 years. He died as director. Nixon then appointed his toady L. Patrick Gray who tried to shut down the FBI's Watergate probe for Nixon. Gray was forced to resign after it was disclosed he destroyed Watergate-related FBI files
Reagan appted William Sessions as FBI director in 1987. He improperly use of his position for personal gain, including using his position to get a mortgage, installing a home security fence & charging the FBI, & using FBI transport for personal reasons. . .
This all went public just before the 1992 election. President Clinton repeatedly pressured Sessions to resign, but he refused. Clinton became the first president to fire outright an FBI director (in a phone call).
Then, of course, we all know Trump fired FBI Director Comey after he failed to publicly clear Trump in the FBI's Russia investigation. There is an irony in this. In all of the FBI's history, certain directors were forced out for their improprieties. . . .
Comey was fired not for improprieties -- despite Trump's lame claim it was due to his treatment of Hillary -- but for not (improperly) clearing Trump. In fact, while Trump had the power to fire Comey, of course, his actions were, clearly, obstruction of justice.
If Trump fires FBI Director Christopher Wray -- whom Trump appointed FBI director after Comey -- he would become the first president to outright fire two FBI directors!

From what I can tell, Wray has actually been a good FBI director. So this would be huge news should it happen.
