I have profound respect for the @LMPD. Just witnessed several officers stop a break in right by our residence. They stood in front the car trying to get away, repeatedly ordering the driver “Stop! You will get shot!” The driver disobeyed & drove through them.

They didn’t shoot, though it seemed it would have been reasonable from my vantage point. There are three consecutive traffic lights down the road he headed; it would be tragic to see an accident as a result of his disobedience. They sent two police cars after the suspect.

The @LMPD also caught & arrested a second man who was providing look out.

Police officers’ jobs aren’t easy. It’s hard to imagine the responsibility they have to protect their city & how to carry out that responsibility in moments like the one I observed.
