I know that they will spin it, and tomorrow nobody will remember what I write here, but this is the collateral effect of @realDonaldTrump’s policies, who cosied with Putin and comforted dictators and wannabe sultans.

And of the blindness and incompetence of people like @JosepBorrellF and other EU leaders, who, willingly or not, by their own absence, allowed people like Putin and Erdogan to show the irrelevance and the untrustworthiness of the EU.

So, all in all, this outcome is an Armenian defeat as much as it is a defeat of the @OSCE and the Minsk Group co-chairs, of @francediplo_EN and the @StateDept especially, of the EU and the @eu_eeas, and of democracy, multilateralism and peaceful international relations.

I take my own share of blame for this outcome; hope others will take theirs too. Failing to do so, will unavoidably make the world a much less safe and liveable place.
