bna behind the scenes!!! here’s some frames i designed for the ED +some commentary on the production (thread)
i had the privilege of directing, designing, and even animating a little bit on this, but getting everything done in the time we had, at this quality, was hugely thanks to the team i worked with: @johanimation @sitjichou and esther cheung! (@ esther_cheung on instagram)

the animation on this second shot is a tag-team between me and esther- i did the rough animation, but im kind of slow and got a bit held up with doing drawovers on other scenes, so esther took over for the inbetweens and clean up. she’s really good and fast!
the little light reflections in the water here were done purely in after effects! shoutout to jojo for the compositing wizardry

this scene was kind of a tag-team between me and esther too (first pass by esther > drawovers by me > clean up by esther)
and ofc compositing by johannes, like with the rest of the ED! while designing the bgs for this scene +the following shots, i’d resigned myself to animating the kaleidoscope effect by hand, but johannes found an after effects trick for it so we didn’t have to do that... thank god
this scene with shirou is animated by sitji!!
the rough animation for this shot is a little all over the place but here’s this i guess

this scene is animated by sitji too! for no particular reason it was the last one we finished 
we were running low on time, so me, sitji, and esther did the clean-up together. her hair took a few tries to get right, i think i was still revising things as i was cleaning it haha

the character animation in the winged michiru shot was a tag-team between me and esther again! esther did the first pass based on my storyboards, and the following passes and cleanup is by me
the wolf and the big star at the end was animated by esther too! i love her fx animation tbh… the rest of the animation and compositing is by johannes tho- i remember the stars went through a few iterations and each time was kinda tedious to do thanks for bearing with it jojo
