i am passionate about edelgard-ferdinand rivalry wherein ferdinand feels like edie is the 1 person who can understand his lonely position, but edelgard has to kick him down swiftly at every opportunity, & ferdinand thinks it's bc he's weak, but it's actually bc he's a true threat

edie's comment abt striking first in their B-support sums up how i usually see their relationship: they could have been friends, bc they have a lot in common, but edelgard has no room for dissent, & keeps ferdinand down, under her thumb, by necessity, &/or acts like he's nothing

ferdinand desperately wants to be recognized by her, & in almost every scenario that goes unfulfilled... idk im also fond of "edie knowingly sends ferdinand to die at myrddin bc martyring him is more useful than allowing his dissent to build" laughs. just the tragedy of these two
