THREAD// Arguing the non black textured wig wearing excuses:
#1: “BLACK PEOPLE CAN HAVE STRAIGHT HAIR TOO
.”
This is a personal favorite of mine
It’s just so dumb and too easy. First of all, the vast majority of black women DO NOT have straight hair! Exceptions DOES NOT make the rule. Meaning just bc 5 or 6 black ppl
Have straight

This is a personal favorite of mine

Have straight
hair naturally does not mean straight hair is a black feature.
Some white ppl can have Afros/Big lips does mean that Afros and big lips are white features? If we can argue that white women are trying to look like us or at least not like themselves if they get lip filler why
Some white ppl can have Afros/Big lips does mean that Afros and big lips are white features? If we can argue that white women are trying to look like us or at least not like themselves if they get lip filler why
can’t we argue black women are trying to look white or not like themselves if they wear other races of women’s hair on there head??
Second of all, YOUR HAIR IS NOT SILKY STRAIGHT! Is it ok for dark-skinned black ppl to bleach bc black ppl can have lighter skin? By that logic

white women can also have kinky curly hair. Plus, You’re still saying that you think straight hair is better when you say this, which is obviously self hate. Ask yourself why you want straight hair?
Plus, y’all can NEVER actually show a genetically west African black woman with
Plus, y’all can NEVER actually show a genetically west African black woman with
naturally straight hair
it’s always some group that just lives in Africa. NEWSFLASH! not everyone in Africa is genetically black
Then yall talk about your mythical family member that we never see
And if we do they are mixed
And y’all just need to stop with the dumb lies

And y’all just need to stop with the dumb lies
lol. Y’all really trying to tell me black women got the inspiration to wear wigs from a black woman they saw with naturally straight hair
.... most of y’all have NEVER seen that in real life!

#2 “THE EVE GENE
”
This one is hilarious. THE EVE GENE DOES NOT EXIST!

and all races deal with albinism even animals! Ya’ll have literally taken the theory of the Mitochondrial eve and turned it into some super gene of black women
Someone made a good point saying that

This one is hilarious. THE EVE GENE DOES NOT EXIST!

y’all obsession with that is mostly likely rooted in an inferiority complex. The idea of being able to give birth to white kids or the idea of being able to do something yt ppl can’t helps you cope or something.
#3 “DISCRIMINATION!

We don't only wear SW for work. We wear them on many other occasions. And if a workplace is pressuring u to lighten your skin, your response wouldn't be to bleach. We take a stand against all other forms of anti-blackness except this.

If u are aware that European beauty standards are influencing your hair choices why would you continue to conform? It seems counterproductive.
Plus you’re telling me these are the wigs you are wearing to “aSsiMiLAte” um... yeah.. I think tf not.

#4 “PROTECTIVE STYLING!
”
First of all, a lot of BW will have a full head of hair but will only cover it with wigs or if they do wear it out it’s straightened! These black women will say that the reason why they wear wigs is to grow out their hair because they like long hair

First of all, a lot of BW will have a full head of hair but will only cover it with wigs or if they do wear it out it’s straightened! These black women will say that the reason why they wear wigs is to grow out their hair because they like long hair
but that’s lie because black women wear short silk wigs all the time . ITS NOT LENGTH BW HAVE A PROBLEM WITH, ITS TEXTURE!
Second of all, if it protective styling why not wear hair that looks like black women hair?
BW do not NEED other women’s hair on our heads to grow our hair. Also when do we show off what we been protecting? This shit has gotten to the level where other women’s hair has become

the default on us bc BW are seen wearing these unrealistic wigs more than our own hair/texture.
At this point this is PAST protective styling. Protective styling is for when you want to take break once in a while. Wearing it more than your own hair or at least textures that

look like it could actually be your hair just means your lazy and trying to hide your hair. Btw you can do protective styles with your own hair yall just don’t like the way it looks.

“BLACK WOMEN CAN DO WHATEVER EVER WE WANT!
”
Well so can white women. WW can wear box braids bc they can do whatever they want
. See how that works? Just bc you can do something doesn’t mean you should. What gives BW the right to wear Asian hair? Bc they sell it to us? Aren’t

Well so can white women. WW can wear box braids bc they can do whatever they want

majority of these white women getting braids are getting it from black female hairstylist?

WHY DOES IT MATTER
”
It matters bc when you wear/worship these wigs you are admitting inferiority and saying you have bad genetics. You are basically saying that you need non black women’s hair to feel beautiful bc you feel their hair is superior. It’s just embarrassing for

black women overall. You also give these other groups a superiority complex over you.

“VERSATILITY

Wouldn’t you say its self-hate to feel as if your features are so boring that you should completely alter it to something else nothing like yours? Like why do black women feel as if we need to switch up our look by

wearing other peoples hair? no other group of women feel this way? And don’t even use makeup as an example because yes if you’re completely changing your face to look nothing like your own then that means you hate the way your face looks, obviously the difference is that’s a
general insecurity women have

Anyways do not come in the comment section talking about white supremacy being the reason black women hate their hair I already understand that... the problem is when you tell them they’ll use all the excuses above. Also you can’t be talking about texturism but contributing to
the problem just like you can’t be talking about colorism and bleaching your skin.
