@awintory, I wanted to say that I listened to the most recent episode of #PlayWatchListen, and I found your points on government and education quite interesting. I am a teacher who is on an Ed. Leadership path, and I truly found your take powerful.
While I can’t agree wholly, I felt you deserved to hear my appreciation for what you articulated, as well as what you do. You said it well insofar as politicians should be held to account for their decisions, and I hope to see that occur more often.
I should also note both @Charalanahzard and @mikeBithell made very interesting arguments, and addressed quite serious concerns in education, and elsewhere, respectively.
I do believe it is important that we talk about things in this way so that others who are limited in the scope of their experience can see more of the picture.
Also, @Charalanahzard , I’m that Ancient History teacher who has students write essays on the Egyptians. I hope that, in my classroom, I have done more to help students get out of it what I want, but your experience is indicative of the broken system of measure that exists.
Thank you all for your work. Keep it up, and thank you for another brilliant episode of this wonderful podcast. #PlayWatchListen
