Thanks everyone for the hundreds of thankful texts/tweets/emails over the last few days. But now that I've had about 2 minutes to catch my breath, let me make sure you all know the names of just some of the other people responsible for flipping PA #BackToBluePA.
Let's start by acknowledging three incredible powerhouse women on our state leadership team. Sr Advisor @SincereAHarris, Sr Advisor to the Coordinated Campaign @chelsiemarieo, and Deputy State Director @NikkiliaLu. They're amazingly talented & it was an honor to work with them.
In a profession still dominated by men, these three are the best of the best and at the top tier in this profession – and take it from me – we would have been NO WHERE without their smarts, leadership, and political acumen.
Last but certainly not least, our Coordinated Campaign Director @MichaelJDineen rounds out the senior leadership team. He deserves a ton of credit for pushing our team to ensure our down-ballot partners were included at the top of every discussion about strategy.
This group was truly special. Politics has a lot of aggressive type-A, big personalities, and this group came to work everyday with absolutely no ego, no turf wars, no palace intrigue – we were a fully bought-in team who was here to get shit done, and that's exactly what we did.
There are a ton of other amazing leaders on this team, down to the very last organizer, but here's a few more: @peterdoughy Voter Contact Director, and West & East Organizing Directors @MissTexas2013 & @Sara_Goldstein led the BEST organizing program in the country. Hands down.
This crew knocked over 1.3 million doors during GOTV, in addition to millions of texts and calls. We also ran an innovative and incredibly successful voter education effort through our field program, which was instrumental in ensuring that people knew how to properly vote by mail
We had 1 million conversations within our Vote By Mail universe, which is why we knew on election night we were going to win – even though it took the networks a few days to figure it out. As those mail ballots got counted at levels of up to 80% support, it's because of this team
Speaking of mail ballots... the reason we had a historically low rate of defective/void ballots is because @kay_kyungsun_yu and her voter protection team, in concert with organizing, ran the best voter protection effort PA has seen.
Special thanks to Kay's chief of staff @RebeccaEwing13, and "The Stephens" @StephenDee45 & @StephBallentine all of the regionals, volunteers, and of course, the master of the voter protection hotline @racheloraquel who ran a hotline that took THOUSANDS of calls every day
You can't effectively organize in a pandemic if you're not building a strong digital organizing team, and our Digital Organizing Director @NandiOCee absolutely crushed it. She also just brings such amazingly positive energy to the team on a daily basis.
Nandi's deputies @itsmebeccam & @thepattymatos helped support that effort and allowed us to plug digi into coalitions, comms, and every other department on the campaign. *Honorable mention for Becca's drone*
We can't forget @evanmedina and our entire PA data team. They build the engine that drives the machine, and are really the unsung heroes of this campaign, making sure we were talking to the right voters and expanding our coalition as wide and deep as possible.
How can we possibly talk about GOTV without highlighting the brilliant work of our GOTV Director @LaviFelder! Lavi built an army of staff & volunteers to transition a 100% virtual campaign into a hybrid in-person/virtual campaign, and absolutely crushed it
When you're building a campaign army, it's critically important that you train that army and train them well! So it's a damn good thing that PA had the best Training Director in the business @MMBlickman
Also need to shoutout our Comms team, led by comms director @michaelcfeldman, and deputy comms director @Emma_E_Riley (and their large and immensely talented staffs!) Our campaign believed in campaigning everywhere & talking to everyone, and they worked to make that message clear
