“God decided to stop the world to answer this prayer.”

For 9 years, @NAMB_SBC Journeyman Derrick Rudolph, currently serving in @sendpuertorico, has prayed for his family – in particular, his father — to be saved.

When Derrick’s brother lost his job in May of 2020 because of the pandemic, it provided an opportunity for Derrick to talk about the hope he has in the sovereignty of God with his mother. She found comfort in this conversation.

A week later, she told Derrick she was reading the Bible. He offered to read the book of Mark with her. 2 hours before their first study, he received a text from her saying ‘Your dad wants to join us.’

His parents enjoyed the study of the first chapter so much, his father began inviting other family members to join. This started a twice a week family Bible study. When they finished the book of Mark, Derrick took the opportunity to clearly explain the gospel.

A week later, Derrick’s dad expressed a desire to become a Christian. In October, Derrick flew home to Alabama to baptize his dad in their neighborhood pool. Praise God!
