Capitalism thrives where there is a lack of information.

Simple example:

How many places will fire staff if they tell a co-worker their earnings?

Nobody would vote for a system designed around their own exploitation if they knew there was a better alternative.👇🏾 #ableg
This is why capitalists try so hard to misrepresent what democratic socialism is.
It's easier to exploit people when they're forced to play along due to a lack of information.

It's easier to exploit people when they don't know another alternative exists.
The world wouldn't fall apart without these exploitative practices.

The opposite is true. Small businesses and the middle class would thrive if more wealth was equitably circulated in our economy.
When putting people first is a core value of government, the only losers are the extremely wealthy benefactors of capitalism who've been pampered and well taken care of for far too long.

You don't have to search long to find data that will back up staggering wealth inequality.
Every single quality of life metric would improve in a society based around democratic socialist principles.

The metrics we're most proud of have nothing to do with the capitalism.
As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for the things we care about that have democratic socialist underpinnings, such as our public healthcare system, our public education system, our public park system, could a government that champions exploitation even stand on its own?
I don't think so. Which is why I think about the flavour of capitalism the UCP employs is like a parasite.

It can't survive on its own.

It thrives only because it's latched onto democratic socialist institutions & convinces the public that *it* is the reason for all our success
Alberta deserves better than what we're getting right now and what has been the norm for far too long.
