Solution Oriented Approaches are implemented at all different levels of practice.
A solution oriented conversation can be had with a child or young person to help them tell their stories, set their goals, focus on futures, and seek exceptions to their problems.
A solution oriented conversation can be had with a child or young person to help them tell their stories, set their goals, focus on futures, and seek exceptions to their problems.
And you can use the Miracle Question in these conversations too. These can be used with young people or adults when they feel stuck, to think about what change will look like.
At class level, we promote Working On What Works (WOWW). This solves everyday classroom problems by focusing on exceptions and building on what is already going well.
At establishment level, Solution Circles can be used to help staff discuss school issues as a group. This approach helps open thinking and ensures focus on positive, creative solution-seeking.
