I really am tearing up reading all three tweets from people about what Alex Trebek meant to them. Like... fuck
And if you didn't know about jeopardy and someone gave you a basic rundown of what it was and what the questions were like, you'd prob think to yourself 'damn that's entertainment for intellectual elites only'
But everyone's stories are proving otherwise. Jeopardy is/was universally watched and beloved 😭😭😭
Like for example my grandpa was a farmer with only an 8th grade education but we watched jeopardy every single night with him when we were at my grandparents' house. Literally every night
No night was skipped. We'd catch the end of the local news then go right in to jeopardy
He was a super quiet guy and never shot out the answers or anything. He just watched. But I bet he knew way more than he let on
Then my mom and grandma would be finished in the kitchen and come in and start acting like they were actually on jeopardy 😂
As a kid, I thought it was so boring. But now I'm glad that was our routine and I'm sad that I took it for granted
That dude LOVED the lawrence welk show too 😂😭
We used to watch reruns on PBS on Saturday nights like it was primetime TV
