Separate TLfor @CateOwen . The ‘opportunity cost’ of the traditional Kiwi Big OE is interesting. I’d save a bit of money after Uni and was going to do the OE but it never happened as I ‘fell’ into a job, then got married, etc. Kind of glad now, as we got the house 1/2
Which made saving compulsory (repaying mortgage) then a life time of saving - imagine being able to put away you rent each week. No kids helped enormously also. The fly in the ointment is we’d just started to travel ... but Covid.
