I think its particularly interesting that schools made us read "Night" and consume images or starving Jewish ppl as kids to get across "how evil the nazis were" while refusing to acknowledge that starvation has been a genocide tactic leveraged by US colonizers themselves.
No diff from how they love circulating images of bodies from wounded knee in efforts to push agendas for savior Narratives while never interrogating their own histories and complicities.
Just like the Declaration refers to Natives as "Merciless Indian Savages" while they withheld rations that were promised in the treaties. Native ppl starved to death for the United States to be established. But we re not supposed to talk about it.
Instead we have a holiday where we pretend everything was all love when once again the story is one sided and only is true where Natives had pity for colonizers and fed them prior to violence.
