Still thinking about how @jomalleydillon was LEFT OUT of a story about Biden's win, and realizing the erasure of the other women and non-binary folks on the campaign has already started. So: a thread, of ppl that you should be following, citing, writing stories about:
Gonna start with @_clarkekent, who's now the best online fundraiser in history. I know a lot about the best online fundraisers in the world since my partner is in that very small club, and Clarke has set new records
BFP's Director of Analytics, @beccasiegel. I want to see TWICE as many stories about her as about Dan Wagner and Elan Kriegel from the last few cycles. She's fucking brilliant. If you're writing a story about data this cycle, and you're not mentioning Becca, you've failed.
Biden's CTO Jacky Chang, @kyoki, who helped build an incredible technical infrastructure that WORKED. If you wrote about the men behind the tools in previous cycles, you need to be writing about Jacky.
Also on team analytics, @annakorm. Seriously folks, the BFP analytics team was a women-led dream team.
This thread is JUST the people I was lucky enough to get to know personally -- but I know the Biden campaign was chock full of incredible talent, so encourage anyone reading this thread that knows others -- lift those folks up! Let's celebrate them!
And just to reiterate, if you're writing about the campaign work behind the scenes, and you are NOT writing about these people, you're failing. Do better.
Also! Molly Graepel @molly_guz, Deputy Analytics Director. When I say women-led dream team I am being dead serious. WHY ARE THERE NOT ALREADY TEN STORIES ON THEM.
Also folks - this list is not comprehensive! There are many other people who should be lifted up! I just don’t know all of them, so I am sharing who I *do* know. Media, this isn’t hard, you figured it out when it was straight white men in these roles, you can figure it out now.
