I think they have made life choices that make them unhappy...

...They think they can't change these (religion, spouse, kids) or are in denial about them. So they remain unhappy, do nothing about it, don't work on themselves.
BUT they see others being happier, & it makes them angry.

They need to work on THEMSELVES, not tell everyone else how to live.

P.S. QAnon/Fox are possibly forms of denial or escapism. Addiction to outrage might be a coping mechanism like alcohol or drugs.
