If your company’s policies don’t include a way to ensure that your co isn’t selling racist or otherwise hateful shit, then you don’t get to say those items on your site don’t reflect your company’s values. Your values are shit if they aren’t reflected in your biz practices.
I’m so sick of companies getting to pretend their way of keeping racist shit off their sites is to do nothing, wait until someone says “hey you have racist shit for sale on your site” and then get to say “oh no that doesn’t reflect our values.”
Actually it does. The fact that your stated values include some nonsense about being against hate, but you have invested nothing as far as applying that to your business operations, means you don’t really value it. You value the idea of being able to pretend you value it
