I have an even more controversial thing to say and that is, sometime very literally translating the sentences in a way they sound very Japanese does not necessarily make your translations bad
Because how Japanese ppl express certain things in their language, the way they build sentences, I do not think that rebuilding the sentences to sound them more “English” or whatever is beneficial in the long run
idk, if you read foreign literature or consume any work of art that isn’t from your own country and all you wanna do is just literally “read the story” you’re missing on half of the fun
it’s like just listening to diao ye zong without caring for lyrics or booklet artwork. Pointless at its core
