1/ An unusual story out of Georgia.

FIRST THE CAVEATS: I have not met the men who relayed it; they live in Atlanta. I have spoken to two of them on their phones. They provided me documents with their address, but not photo identifications. They said they were afraid to do so.
2/ I have no reason to believe they are lying or catfishing me, but I think full disclosure of what I know is important.

Now the story, which both me told in substantially the same way: They are friends and renters in a house in central Atlanta who moved in during the summer...
3/ They regularly receive mail for previous renters, including "Victor" [not his name]. A third-party site confirmed Victor had lived at the address.

Mail they received for Victor included an absentee ballot and a reminder from the Georgia Voter Project to return the ballot...
4/ They provided me a copy of the reminder. They said they had thrown out the ballot and could not find it.

On Friday, Nov. 6, around noon, a man in his thirties came to the house. He said he worked for the Georgia Democratic Party and asked the renters if "Victor" was home...
5/ One of the renters explained that Victor no longer lived there. He then asked if they knew if Victor's ballot was in the house. They said they did not. The man did not ask any more questions or explain why he wanted the ballot but walked off...
6/ That is more or less the whole story. The man didn't identify himself or offer identification, so he may not even have been from the Democratic Party of Georgia. I emailed the party's media representatives last night and today to ask for comment; they did not respond...
7/ The only fact that seems beyond dispute is that all ballots in Georgia must be submitted by Election Night (or within three days for military or overseas voters), so "Victor's" ballot should have been useless to everyone.
