Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine is made by artificially creating a messenger RNA sequence in the lab that instructs your own cells to put together the right amino acids in the right order to re-create the coronavirus’ spike protein. Your immune system learns to fight that protein.
Therefore, nobody risks getting the coronavirus from the vaccine because the artificially created messenger RNA is designed to invade and then to trick your own cells into producing the coronavirus’ spike protein. Immune system T-cells find this new protein you made and fight it.
Basically, cells transcribe DNA in their nucleus into mRNA using RNA polymerase. The mRNA goes into the cytoplasm and to the ribosomes where transfer RNA bring amino acids to the mRNA to build proteins. The COVID-19 vaccine hijacks this process with mRNA making the spike protein.
