Now that Trump has lost, a thread based on psychologists’ recommendations for leaving sociopaths:
/1
1. Stop talking about Trump. Seriously. Trump has consumed the air for four years and has become an addiction, even for those who oppose him. You must go no contact, which in this case means not reading about him or tweeting about him or talking about him.

/2
2. Block Trump and his sycophants on social media. Don’t get curious and go read just to see. Block him. It will help you move on faster.

/3
3. Mute anti-Trump accounts that have built their brand on him. They will continue to amplify the division and reactivate the parts of your brain that want to fight him.

/4
4. Let the legal battles play out as they will, but know you have no control there unless you are on the Biden legal team. Trust that they have got this.

/5
5. Accept that you are not responsible for bringing Trump to justice. There are people who may focus on that. But you need to leave it to them to figure it out and detach yourself from the outcome. It is the only way for you to reclaim your Trump-free life.

/6
6. Stop feeding into the 2024 potential run narrative. The fastest and simplest way to stop it is by not giving the idea any attention or air time. He’ll get bored and move on.

/7
You won’t want to listen to me. I get it. I’ve ignored the advice too. But eventually you will come to understand, like those of us who’ve left sociopaths or narcissists, that this is the only way.
