Whether you like it or not, after today's announcement, there's a good possibility the vaccine is the only way the restrictions/lockdowns end, on the caveat it is voluntary.

We can have different worldviews and still get along but on the rare occasions a fracturing of the space time continuum occurs(it's been happening quite regularly recently because of social media).
eg. Brexit and Trump. Now Covid. With covid, I saw 3 worldviews emerge

1) This is a government over reaction and incompetence, and they've boxed themselves in the lockdown corner.
2) That is a grand conspiracy involving your favourite global organisations
3) That it is really a Spanish flu type deadly virus

Worldview 1 and 2 are broadly on the same page. That lockdowns aren't needed(for varying reasons) but after 8 months we haven't convinced worldview 3.
How do you convince 3 to end lockdown? A vaccine. In their worldview, once it comes, that means no justification for lockdown.

Worldview 1 think governments are using this as a get out of boxing themselves into a corner(placebo or real).

It's not ideal. But we are being held to ransom by 3. How much more of living like this can we take?
As long as it's a voluntary vaccine, everyone can get back to their pre covid worldview and put it into the rear view mirror, the justification for restrictions ends it all 3..

....there's no need for masks, track and trace, social distancing, ban on gatherings. All of it.
