A few words about @J_McLaughlinIII:

Back during the 2016 season my then 4-yo son told me, “dad my favorite #FCCincy player is Jimmy McBrocklin.” It was cute, he had a ⚽️ hero and I didn’t have the heart to tell him his last name was McLaughlin. 1/
He asked for a #20 kit for his birthday and he was all-in on his new favorite player.

During the 2017 season #LowercaseG and Jimmy met at a few events and as we planned his 6th birthday he asked that McBrocklin got an invite. We extended said invite and Jimmy showed up. 2/
For that party and every one since.

The last five years I’ve watch Jimmy & Sawyer become buds, root for each other at soccer games, share burgers and hugs. If my kid wants to grow up and be like Jimmy McBrocklin, I’m 100% onboard with that plan. 3/

Today we had a tough conversation about Jimmy’s future that involved a lot of tears and a promise to root for Jimmy wherever he lands.

The beauty of all this is it’s not unique to my situation or my family. For five years Jimmy has captured the hearts of Cincinnati. 5/
He’s been a champion for the club, on and off the pitch. A model citizen and the last standing OG for FC Cincinnati.
