if there’s anything that i’ve learned in the year+ i’ve been vegan, it’s that environmental racism is so fucking evil and easily affects so many people & health food can be inaccessible and expensive for poc and lower income families
keke’s tweet was probably not from a place of malice, but it’s common for celebrities to be out of touch with the reality faced by those who use ebt cards, therefore, the tweet came off as oblivious and hurtful for obvious reasons
i’ve had to hold myself & others accountable for language used when promoting a vegan diet, bc it can be pricey or affordable...regardless, there’s racism and classism involved in everything, especially food, the meat industry, the history of lactose affecting black ppl, etc
food is ALWAYS political, trust me
