$FSR Here is my picture book DD on why Samsung SDI and SK Innovations are the two most likely parters... And it all started with this interview
Fisker said:
Based on these comments from @henrikfisker my first questions are:

1) What is the platform and who is the other large OEM using the same platform?

2) Who are these 2 battery manufacturers?

3) Who is this potential 3rd OEM?
1) What is the platform and who is the other large OEM using the same platform?

The platform is called "FM29" and uniquely developed by Fisker:
Magna partners with only a handful of companies: BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Toyota.

Fisker said it's not the Jaguar platform in the interview, Toyota partnered w Subaru, and while MB says they're making an EV G-Wagon, it's seems BMW would then be the most likely candidate.
So let's start with the obvious about Fisker's deep-rooted relationship with BMW:
Then we find BMW is creating the X1, iX3, and iNext all electric SUVs, along with their other Series models.

These new BMW SUVs in development could easily use the same FM29 platform as the Ocean.
2) Who are these 2 battery manufacturers?
- Panasonic is partnered with Tesla and Toyota, so an unlikely risk to take.

- He's been burned by China before so also unlikely to pattern with CATL or BYD.

- LG Chem has already been a disaster for Jaguar and Audi

- Which then really only leaves Samsung and SK Innovations
Samsung has a fairly deep relationship with Magna already, regarding EV batteries as well as consulting
But then we find our suspected platform partner, BMW, has a massive battery contract with Samsung too!

So basically, Fisker could offer his FM29 platform to BMW for their new electric SUVs in exchange for their volume pricing discount with Samsung! $FSR
That BMW / Samsung partnership also runs pretty deep it seems...
If that wasn't enough, the Fisker E-Motion has been expected to have a solid-state battery with 500-mile range before they want to put it into production... A bonus!
Soooo guess who just created one?
To pile on a bit more, Samsung and Jaguar LandRover (Magna) also have a battery partnership:
SK Innovations more just by process of elimination, but as I've said before, Magna typically produces only select vehicles for OEMs, so a partnership with VW could still be possible for future Fisker vehicles, in which case this SK partnership would also matter for volume pricing
VW has always said they wanted to share their platform, and while it was looking like Ford was going to close the deal I can't  find any articles confirming after this date... So this still could be possible for Fisker.
3) Who is this potential 3rd OEM?
I think this could be really cool... I think it's $HCAC / Canoo!

- Founder is former CFO for BMW

- There's a partnership in the works with Magna.

- They haven't picked a battery partner yet!

This would be a win-win-win-win on volume battery pricing for all!
And finally, Magna is expanding to North America to make all of this happen 🍻🥳 $FSR
