What is the A, B, and C summery report? Many people argued that, A summery report was filed by the police in Anvay Naik suicide case & subsequently accepted by magistrate, therefore, the case was closed, then why it was reopened? More clarification over it by Sr Adv Amit Desai
1. 'A' summary report -- it is filed in cases where the offence is made out but the police investigation could not trace out the evidence or the accused. It means that the case is not closed down, offence accepted
'B' & 'C' summary reports are filed after completion of investigation when allegations are found to be false or registration of FIR is found to be on the basis of mistaken facts. In Anvay Naik case, A summary report was filed, not B and C that gave scope to reprobe the case
