There is a social and cultural version of toxic Christianity that is REAL

And people need to ADMIT that it exists so that it can be dismantled.

Naming the problem is the first step, and it's way WAY past time.

This is not about anyone's personal relationship with their own religion

This is about how a version of Christianity is used to abuse and silence entire groups of people.

This is about the violence of regressive Christianity as a political force

and the failure of progressive Christians and American Leftists to NAME the problem and effectively fight against it

And it is about how progressive Christians refuse to do anything about the rot in their own religion besides say that evangelicals and other white supremacist Christians aren't in your religion on the one hand

While tactily protecting them on the other.

Like the calls to not talk about Amy Coney Barrett's version of Christianity

Even tho that conversation is the entire ballgame, we can't have it because progressive Christians CONSTANTLY GIVE THESE PEOPLE COVER

There are people alive today who remember how these people acted during the AIDS crisis, and I am one of them

so don't tell me that progressive Christians don't cover for evangelicals and trad caths because you absolutely do

I am begging progressive Christians to come to terms with the violence enacted in the name of YOUR religion

AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BESIDES BITCH AT THE SURVIVORS OF CHRISTIAN VIOLENCE AND ABUSE

Because from where I am sitting, the energy I get from ALL the Christians is that they want survivors to be silenced rather than admit that they have a systemic problem

And that's bullshit and unworthy of the principles you claim to hold

Did Jesus come to silence victims?

Did Jesus come to stop justice and restitution from taking place?

Because that's what the Christians are doing.
