Use of Firecrackers in Hindu Festivals in Medieval India.
Persian official Abdur Razzaq while visiting the Court of Devaraya II (1443AD)says:

"One can not mention all great kinds of Pyrotechny which were exhibited, without going into great detail".
Ludovico de Verthema, an Italian Traveller describes the same in vijayanagar, when he visited india Around 1508
Portuguese traveller Duarte Barbosa, who was in India Between 1500-1516 Noted that in Brahmin wedding in Gujrat, Fireworks were used
A Sanskrit Work, Written in The Court of Gajapati Prataparudradeva of orissa, Kautukachintamani, describes, 8 types of Firecrackers used for royal entertainment.
Another sanskrit work, called Akasabhairava kalpa, from karnataka, describes a Gun (नलिका) among 32 types of weapons to be worshipped by the king.

Chapter 62 of the work gives description of बाणवृक्षाण, a structure from which rockets were fired into the Air.
Marathi poem of Sant Ekanath, Rukmini-svayamvara written in 1570 describes types of fireworks.

Name of different types of Fireworks are Underlined in Green.
Marathi work of Saint Samarth Ramdas, Ramadasa samagra Grantha, In its Prakarana 13 describes different types of fireworks, which are Highlighted.
French Merchant, Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, described use of fireworks in marriage ceremonies:

"The groom borrows as many elephants as he can and marches with horses in Night and fireworks are thrown in streets"

Sounds very much similar to avg modern day wedding.
