If saving faith were a bridge, here are the 3 components it would entail:

1. Seeing the bridge and knowing its purpose
2. Believing the bridge will hold you up
3. Crossing the bridge

In this analogy the bridge is Christ. So so many people know the gospel and even trust that it is the only way to heaven. And yet, they have neglected actually exercising faith in Christ. They love their sin too much. They love their autonomy too much. They love their way of life

It doesn’t matter if you know and understand the gospel if you don’t lay hold of Christ as your only suitable and all sufficient Savior.
