Clannad: "To love means to hurt"

Spoilers for the Kyou special ep

Kyou is a big sister and she acts like it, she always put Ryou's need before hers, she tries to sacrifice herself to make her little sister happy, when Ryou is involved she hides her feelings and put on the big sister's mask.-

There is always this cloud that surrounds Kyou when her emotions come out, it makes the tone heavier and the screen becomes filled with a grey color that makes the characters at their most vulnerable state.

All the bad things that happened came from this cloud, all the bad things that may happen will come from it, that is why she must hide her feelings.
Kyou's actions may seem selfless and it is in some way but there are more to it than just that-

Kyou feared that if she confessed and got rejected she won't be able to stay beside Tomoya even as a friend and even if they started dating Ryou will get sad so the best solution was to surrender, because if she surrendered no one will get hurt.-

This is WRONG!
You will hurt the people you love in a way or another even if you don't want to, even If you try to take a safe distance bc you are afraid of hurting someone or being hurt then you are just delaying the inevitable and by that making it worse when it finally comes.

Being in any relationship means to hurt and get hurt, this is just how it is, don't be afraid of it bc it is ok. You will hurt the people you love bc you are dear to them and you will be hurt bc you love them, that is just how it is so don't be afraid from it.
