Michigan vs Georgia a thread.

Michigan and Georgia have relatively the same population (Georgia is now leading)

But around 10 million people each.

Michigan had 5,500,000 votes cast.

Georgia had 4,977,000 votes cast.

A 500,000 vote difference!

What happened?
Trump will receive almost 200,000 more votes in Michigan and still lose Michigan by 150,000 votes.

Georgia has a huge untapped voter pool.

Michigan has a few advantages. Mostly a lack voter suppression and a long union history of organizing for elections.
One major proposal changed a lot for Michigan.

Prop 3 in 2018 allowed for same day voter registration, early voting and no absentee voting - it also brought back straight ticket voting - Sorry John James.

A new voting rights act has got to be #1 priority for Democrats.
Expanded voting rights would make the difference in Georgia and help close the gap in Texas.

Good job Michigan!

Good job Georgia!
