In any other country, AOC and and Abigail Spanberger would be in different political parties.

But in any other country, the political system would not require a political party to put together a supermajority electoral coalition in order to exercise majority power.
This is my problem with takes like "The Democratic party needs to appeal to more people."

The Democratic Party just appealed to 75 million voters, the most in history. How many more is possible? Is preferable?
The New Deal Coalition was so large because it was ideologically promiscuous and cynically amoral.

It gave Southern states white supremacy so that Northern States could have social democracy.
