As Fox News Support for Trump Wavers, Murdoch Family Struggles

Kathryn Murdoch had a little-noticed Election Day tweet that hinted at her reputational concerns. “What will you tell your children or your future self about the part you played in history?” https://theintercept.com/2020/11/06/fox-news-election-trump-murdoch/
Rupert and son Lachlan represent the right wing arm of the family, and the ownership of the media properties mean Rupert (with 50%) only needs one of the six children (owning the remaining 50% in equal shares) to support his plans to wield power.
James and his wife Kathryn are more centrist and have contributed to @PeteButtigieg and @JoeBiden ‘s campaigns.

But the Murdoch empire has a disproportionate concentration of power than often feels (eg Fox, News Group : eg The Sun in the U.K) malign.

Australia, too suffers
Unsurprisingly the split between James & his father and brother Lachlan has been coming for a while.

Indeed Fox itself has been schizophrenic re Trump’s position with Newscasters rebutting claims of electoral fraud, whilst Hannity has continued to fuel baseless conspiracy theory
Hence the curiosity about what is going on behind the scenes.

Suggestions that Rupert has refused to take phone calls from an angry Trump..

It will come down to expediency for Rupert Murdoch.

Kathryn, meanwhile, tweets out, to put country before profit.
Which way will Rupert Murdoch direct his empire now?

What will he find expedient and will that be his only driver?
