1. The #WarOnTigray, as the Oromo public intellectual @awolallo rightly put it in his latest appearance on @AJENews, is ''an extension of the war that @AbiyAhmedAli has been prosecuting in places like Oromia”.

2. The recent military confrontation in #Tigray cannot be properly understood without making a reference to the underlying nature of & the alignment of forces in the already ongoing conflict dynamics all over #Ethiopia.

3. Since #Abiy came to power in 2018, his primary preoccupation has been over centralizing power around himself & his newly established prosperity party in a manner that compromises the federal order as well as nations & nationalities’ right to self-administration/determination.

4. Consequently, over the past 2yrs, he instigated serious & bloody hostilities when his ambition was encountered with fierce resistance from #Oromia, #Somalia, #Sidama, #Wolayta & other major ethnic groups that insisted to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed group rights.

5. To make things worse, Abyi's cunningly designed aspirations for absolute power has been effectively disguised under the auspices of the infamous & the age-old supremacist ''Pan-Ethiopian'' ideology which advocates for the construction of a unitary nation-state.

6. As it later transpired, this cover-up for the insincere & irresponsible partisan policy didn't only severely affect state-society relations, It also caused increasingly alarming & widespread ethnic tension.

7. Partly coz, on z one hand, it emboldened narrow & toxic version of the “Pan-Ethiopian” advocates’ nationalism &, on z other hand, it aroused other ethnic group's suspicion on their innocent fellow citizens of the ethnicity where avid proponents of the said mentality originate.

8. Sadly, even after all z unfortunate civilian casualties in z frequent ethnic based clashes, #Abyi is hellbent on continuing to manipulate some irredentist elements of Amhara nationalists & instrumentalizing ''Pan-Ethiopian'' ideology inhis latest confrontation against #Tigray.

9. However, #Tigray knows who the real enemy is; @AbiyAhmedAli. And the war is not just between Tigray & #Abyi. It is rather the continuation of those who are fighting to uphold their constitutional order against Abyi’s UNITARIAN illusion & his henchmen.

10. It’s a war waged against multiethnic federalism & #Ethiopian ethnic groups’ aspirations to be equal in the eyes of the law & have equal hold in the country’s political, social as well as economic future.
