It came up in a discord this morning that a lot of people maybe don’t know the “””subtle””” signals yt supremacysts and n@zis will use to communicate to other white supremacysts and n@zis and intimidate their potential victims, so here’s a super fast heads up
content warning for hate speech and n@zism, references to genocide, etc
I will not be taking questions because I hate that I know these things, please consult the ADL’s database of hate symbols for more information https://www.adl.org/hate-symbols

88 —> code for Hei1 Hit1er.
Occasionally you’ll see people born in 1988 who use 88 as part of their internet handles and are shocked to learn what it means, so on its own, it *might* not mean n@azis... but it usually does. Often combined with other number codes.

14 —> reference to “the 14 words”, a yr supremacyst saying. Often combined with other number codes, commonly seen as “1488”.
83 —> code for Hei1 Christ, used specifically by Christi@n yt supremacysts. This was way more common in the 90s, at least in my neck of the woods, but is now pretty niche
18 —> code for Ado1f Hit1er. Rare to see alone, usually combined with other codes or symbols.
2316 or 23-16 or variants —> code for yt power
109 —> the number of countries n@zis claim Jews have been expelled from. Often 109/110 because they add in the country they’re in (USA/UK/Australia/etc)
100% and variations —> stands for “100% white”, can be combined with other number codes - often to denote specific allegiances to specific groups. ADL uses the example of example of 112% —> ary@n brotherhood
9% —> yt supremacysts think this is the portion of the world that is yt, proving once again that they can’t do research OR maths
Something I strongly recommend is to familiarise yourself with the common elements of yt supremacyst symbols (red/white/black colour scheme, swords, hammers, shields, lightning bolts, Celtic crosses, eagles, etc) because these people are not creative and shockingly easy to spot
I don’t know why fandom thinks Pepe the frog is okay now but uhhh... he’s not. Sorry. The assholes got him, he’s gone now. Same with trollface memes to an only slightly lesser degree.
A lot of Norse runes, especially othala, tyr, jera, life, etc. - especially if they appear alone and out of context - are n@zi symbols.
As with everything, sometimes these things will appear for totally innocent reasons, so context is key. But if there’s more than one? You’ve got a n@zi on your hands, friendo.
These are only the symbols and sayings I personally can think of off the top of my head. There are definitely more, new ones pop up every so often... I didn’t even get into stuff like the ((( echoes ))).
You will also see some truly bonkers combinations of hate symbols with other things that make no sense (I recently saw a combination of swordfish, confederate flag, and an Australia symbol that completely stymied me - I know it’s racist, but what does it mean?!)
These people are not smart but they’re persistent and mean and roachlike in their ability to keep coming back, so I’m probably not letting anonymous users comment on my works any more.
