Amazing thread. Genuinely baffled at how people who grew up in the 70s survived. Growing up in the 90s, the biggest danger I had to deal with was an out-of-control kini during an especially energetic game of Pogs. https://twitter.com/memorialdevice/status/1324647421754986496
Mind you, there was always a risk that I'd get too enthusiastic with one of those day-glo sticks that went "ooouuoaaaeeh-aiiieeeeooough" (usually bought during a trip to Abergele Market) and my parents would have no option left other than to beat me to death.
I also managed to stab my thumb on the tip of an especially sharp wigwam which formed part of a Disney World playset.
Had I ever tripped and fallen eye-first onto that wigwam...well, let's just say it would have forever ruined the prospect of 3D films for me.
