Well, I criticise him for a lot of reasons!
He shortened the careers of Virendra Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh etc! And I love those players way more than I have ever even liked dhoni!
His age has also caught up to him! He wanted younger players in team instead of... https://twitter.com/double_Dees1393/status/1324949987726258176
Senior players and he did not retire till the age of 39 despite his lost form and fading finishing ability! That makes him a blatant hypocrite. The reason to not give them (senior players) a chance was nothing but his absolute, obnoxious, unreasonable dissent on seniors.
Dhoni is fit but fitness itself does not win games. I am sure Ganguly and others could have improved their fitness as well. and how about ashwin and kuldeep who are not exactly the models of fitness? They get to play but the ones he removed were unacceptable? thats a poor theory.
dhoni just wanted the power holders out and removed. simple as that. he could care less about their fitness. He always interfered in the selection process of Indian team and gave unreasonable preference to CSK players! He was more interested in politics!
He gets too much credit as well! HE DID NOT WIN US THE WORLD CUP!!!! He had a bloody good team that did all the hard work. Dhoni except for the final had no role to play during the cup which was held in India. India has always done well in India, dhoni or not.
He had 20 overs in the 2019 worldcup to chase down 230 odd runs against NZ. What did he finish and how much did he contribute? lets be honest to ourselves
In WCT20 2007, he was not the guy who did anything great with the bat, it was Yuvi, Gauti and Viru.
In WC2011, he didn't score in any of the matches before final. In the final match, Tendulkar and Sehwag both were gone in 6 overs. Gambhir came in at 3 and Kohli at 4, these two handled the pressure very well and added around 100 run partnership. We were 114-3 in 21 overs, now...
that day when dew was ON, pressure was soaked already, he promoted his position. Why? Dude, its Yuvraaj Singh's position. Why today? Isn't it to gain some credit? Then Gambhir got out in 42nd over with a brilliant 97 (tho he blames Dhoni for not being able to make it 100 as...
Dhoni made him nervous by reminding him his personal milestone) Dhoni seized the opportunity very well and got Man of the Match. If he isn't selfish, why didn't he share the award with Gambhir who played better than him and whose innings was more crucial than his?
The match in which Sachin scored 200, Dhoni was not looking to give him the strike at all. At one point, everyone thought Sachin won't be able to score 200. When Dhoni arrived in 42nd over, Sachin was at 179 (required just 21) with 8 overs to go. Then he was at 186 after 43 overs
So, now 14 in 7 overs and Dhoni was at 4(5). Do you want to know the score at 49 overs. Tendulkar -199 and Dhoni - 53(30). Out of 36 balls, he himself played 30 and Sachin scored 13 in just 6 balls he was given. Moreover Dhoni retained the strike by taking a close single in the
last ball when Sachin was cramping on 199. But fortunately he completed his 200, the great man. I will give you a similar instance when Rohit SHARMA scored 264 against Sri Lanka. Robin Utahappa walked in at the similar situation in 41st over (Dhoni wasn't playing in that game,
Utahappa was keeping), Rohit was at 154. In their 9.4 overs partnership, they scored 128 in which Utahppa played just 16 deliveries and scored 16 runs. And Rohit played rest of the 42 balls and scored 109. Utahappa was just rotating the strike as he knew that the person on the..
the other end is about to make a 200 and is in tremendous touch. Mind you, Utahappa's place in the team was ascertain. Dhoni is clearly selfish in all these kind of instances.
I CAN LITERALLY GO ON AND ON 😂
But I guess this is enough for now
