Today's ride is to a beautiful named hill called Ponsori Malai (Sorimalai colloquially) - it's a archeological site where 2,500 yr old stone monuments found.

This place was basically an example of Tamil geographic classification.

The top the hill, Kurinji.
The bottom of the hill, Mullai.
The habitat & fields, Marudham.

No wonder Tamil Jain monks chose this place to chill

Apart from the traditional cash crops, sugarcane & rice, I saw many fields having lush onions. A new cash crop in town, due to the price hike it seems

As I was trying to go over the hill some local people suggested me to take this route to go to Ponparappi where the monuments are located.

Here it is. The broken sign board to reach Ponchori Malai Jain monument!

-no one knows the way, because there is no way.

-no one knows who owns it, as there is dispute between TN State Archeological Dept, Madurai Jain Society & Namakkal Dt Admin.

These grandmas told me, "monthly 10 - 20 people come here & ask us the direction to go to the Jain monument. We show them the route but because it's all bushy & thorny they just come back in few mins".
