THREAD. The president and his supporters have alleged, without any evidence, that massive voter fraud in urban centers led to his defeat, in states like PA, MI, and WI. But when you look at the data, Trump actually OVERPERFORMED in urban areas in 2020, compared to 2016. /1
In Philadelphia, so far, the president has won 125K votes in 2020, 18.3% of the vote. When he won Pennsylvania by only 44K votes in 2016, Trump won only 109K votes, or 15.3% of the vote. /2
In Wayne County, MI (Detroit), the president has won 264K votes, or 30.6% in 2020. In 2016, he won only 228K, or 29.5% of the vote in Detroit, when he won the state of Michigan, by less than 12K votes overall. /3
In Milwaukee, Trump has won 134K votes in 2020, for 29.3% of the vote. In 2016, when he won the state of Wisconsin by 23K votes, he received only 126K votes, for 29.0%. /4
In EVERY case, he did BETTER in all these urban areas in 2020 than in 2016, both in vote totals and in percentage. Yet he continues to allege unsubstantiated fraud despite his success. /5
Trump is not losing this election bc of false claims of fraud in cities like Philly, Detroit, and Milwaukee. He's not losing because of mail voting, or some Democratic plot (which resulted in huge wins for Rs nationwide and up and down the ballot). /6
The president is losing because he underperformed outside of the cities in these states, and is now on track to lose each state by a similar or larger margin than he won them in 2016. /END
