-the same, or even remotely similar. while desisted women, who are more often straight and bisexual women are elevated to have voices in these communities, detrans women, who a higher proportion are lesbians, are expected only to contribute exclusively detrans experiences-
-when they can be used as a prop in an argument. nobody cares what detrans women have to say if it's not critical of gender ideology. nobody cares what detrans women have to say when they express their discomfort at language like "mutilation". as well as this, -
-detrans women are expected to accept that they are somehow less womanly than desisted and non dysphoric women because they have altered their bodies to make them more ""masculine"". how is this any different from libfem rhetoric? -
while i, a desisted woman, am praised for "turning back before its too late", detrans women are shown little support to help feeling whole in their sex again. -
- detrans women are treated as though by changing their bodies they will never be fully female again. this is so harmful, and is a huge factor that keeps trans men who aren't happy in their transition from questioning it.-
-basically, desisted and detrans women have some fundamentally different experiences. but that doesn't mean that I'm any more female than a woman who had a mastectomy, and her voice should be heard just as much.
