It has seen it all: from MJ, the World Cup, #UEL & more.

Tomorrow, Lausanne play their last-ever game at the historic Pontaise.

It is not the anticipated goodbye with no fans but LS will be keen to bid a fitting farewell to the place they have called home for over 60 years.
The stadium, built in 1904, hosted five World Cup matches as football's biggest tournament came to Switzerland.

Austria and SUI played out a 7-5 thriller in the quarter-final. It is the only game in WC history that two opposition players have scored hat-tricks inside 90 minutes.
Lausanne would move into the stadium in 1954 & finish runners-up that season beginning a journey that would last until November 2020.

LS won the last of their 7 titles there in 1965 & gained promotion in one of the most dominating seasons the Pontaise had ever seen in 19/20.
The famous old place also witnessed Lausanne in European competition, remarkably, when they were a 2nd-tier side!

Their cup win in 2010 granted them entry despite playing in the Challenge League.

LS beat Borac Banja Luka, Randers & Lokomtiv Moscow(!) to reach the Group Stage.
Lausanne would welcome Sparta Prague, Palermo & CSKA Moscow to the Pontaise during that campaign.

Unfortunately, LS lost all their home matches with names such as Vagner Love, Abel Hernandez & Wilfried Bony turning out for their visitors.

Their only point came away to Sparta.
As for memorable games at the stadium?

A 5-1 victory over Zurich in December 2017 was a great Christmas gift in the Super League.

@BenjiKololli, Campo, Margiotta and Zarate all found the net on that day.
Lausanne also bested Young Boys that season at the Pontaise - it was one of only four defeats for YB in that title-winning season.

Gonzalo Zarate scored in stoppage time to ensure the first win over YB in five years.
They also had a thing for wild 4-4 draws at the Pontaise.

Luzern and Thun left the stadium after 4-4 thrillers in 2016 and 2017.

The match vs. Thun saw four goals in the final ten minutes too!
And, if eight goals wasn't enough... Lausanne and Biel played out a nine-goal affair in 2015.

Biel led 3-0 and then 4-1 with just FIFTEEN minutes to play before Lausanne found four goals in ten minutes to win the game at the last.

One of the most amazing comebacks!
Some will remember the early days of Lausanne playing in the Pontaise when they recorded an outrageous 9-0 victory over Luzern in 1955.

They also beat FC Zurich 9-1 in 1962, Chiasso 8-0 in 1972 and FC Basel 7-0 in 1983.
It is fitting that LS saved the best for last in their final full season at the stadium.

In 19/20, they smashed SL side Neuchatel out of the cup by a 6-0 scoreline, regularly won games 5-0 and 6-0 too.

Oh, and stars like Andi Zeqiri, Aldin Turkes and Dan Ndoye were born.
And, it is not quite a final farewell to the Pontaise from Swiss football.

Stade Lausanne-Ouchy are currently playing there in the Swiss Challenge League.

Who knows, we may even see it again in the Super League!
Lausanne though, are moving down the road to the brand-new Stade de la Stade de la Tuiliere.

The 12,000 capacity stadium will prove to be an excellent replacement and will give Lausanne a proper football stadium too.
