Been praying about how I write this cuz I want no misunderstanding. I am prolife. I do not support the death of babies in the womb. In fact, yrs ago as a pharmacy tech, I jeopardized my job by putting my faith into practice when I refused to sell the morning after pill.1
Let's say Roe v Wade is overturned tomorrow. Unwanted pregnancies won't magically stop. There will be backroom abortions, unwanted babies abandoned, and some born living horrid childhoods. Yes, there'll be adoptions but there are too many unwanted babies for all to be placed. 2
Christians want the overturn of Roe v Wade, but we need to think of what happens after that. We need to invest in education and programs for youth, programs like Big Brothers and Big Sisters and more... And Church must get more involved in the unglamorous day to day trenches. 3
We can begin with young girls who need both a mom and a dad in their lives, so they receive love and respect within their family, and not go looking for it in some guy who's gonna ditch them. 4
Being prolife is biblical and wonderful, but proclaiming it is the easy part. Actually reducing the number of unwanted babies is much harder. As the Church, what can we do that we're not doing or not doing enough? 5
I say the answer is Christ....and His Gospel. More girls and guys abiding in Him would mean less abortions. We as the Church need to do more than talk. end
