louisiana voted 43% for biden. that percent probably would've been higher if liberals in this state didnt feel like their vote doesnt matter bc of how the electoral college works. it wouldve been higher if the usual poc voter suppression wasnt happening.
louisiana has a large black and hispanic population that systematically gets oppressed and drowned out by the majority white conservative voters. the electoral college is a fucking joke
yall know the ec is why the south looks so red and totally racist, right? so backwards? so stupid? every election we look ultra conservative, when it's getting close to only half of the people being so. the number gets smaller every election.
the world's view of the us south is why yall dont fucking care about us. when texas, mississippi, and mainly louisiana got fucking tore up by two major hurricanes within the span of two months, i heard barely NO ONE on the national/international sphere even fucking mention it.
i know of friends and family who lost their roofs and cars, people who lost their whole house, their whole neighborhood. lake charles, one of the major cities in louisiana, got destroyed by laura and set more back by delta. yet no, the south is just hicks we shouldnt care about
and yes education is a huge problem in the south, literally everyone who lives here knows and wishes it was better. just writing off the south for being stupid just ignores the fact that many are struggling and TRYING to get better education.
yes this thread is all over the place and yes i hate the us south too bc ive been born and raised here, but i have a lot of thoughts about how we're written off and treated as useless jackasses instead of getting the help we need
