/11 Life update because apparently a couple dozen of you actually noticed I've been offline for 6 months. 2019 was a great year for me in the markets, I decided I'd reward myself by going for what was supposed to be only a couple of months in Asia, things didn't go so well.
/11 since my job as a trader allows me, I thought I'd try out being a "digital nomad". I wasn't actually trading a cent, but wanted to know for myself how it would feel to "live on the road". My rent lease had ended so I was completely free and had no obligations to return.
/11 covid hit and I considered calling it and return home but I thought, fuck it i'll just use this chance to chill on some Thai island while the whole world goes to shit. Well, this didn't work out well for me at all.
Thailand was one of the worst places to be in this pandemic, not because of the cases but because of strict regulations. Half of the time was spent in my hotel room as quarantine was intense and so was the subsequent curfew. By then it was too late to return. There were no flights
/11 Life only started being enjoyable again once curfew was lifted and I traveled domestically. After 2+ months of doing so, I flew home. I thought living on the road was the dream, earning USD and spending THB staying in nice places.. it sounded amazing.
/11 Fuck me it was not. It isn't for everyone. The only way to know that for sure was to give it a try. I returned home in late August. I won't go into details as to why it wasn't for me, it simply didn't fit me. I much prefer having a routine and not having to move all the time
/11 I thought I'd love the time off away from the charts, away from bitcoin and forex. The fact is I missed it more than anything. I deleted all my trading apps because I couldn't get myself to stop looking for setups at every chance I could whether at the beach or in a mountain
/11 This was a very enlightening period for me as I figured out what I really want. Like most people, I love traveling. But I don't love living on the road and constantly doing it. Maybe I'm just too old for that shit.
/11 What I do love is having a home base, a trading desk, and take 1-2 months break every now and then and travel, return to the base and travel again once I truly crave it and need a break from the charts.
I've been back in the markets late August and am back on twitter as of today. Thank you to those asking for me, genuinely surprised as there are plenty other accounts that provide great content on a frequent basis. Glad to be back.
/11 As per my tweets, before I left I was a bull above 11k. This caused me to rebuy my stack higher but also protected me from a brutal downtrend. I'm a bull and I think pullbacks are for buying and like I said before I think 20k will be taken with ease. Glad to have you guys.
